Eric Salter Balfour was born on April 24, 1977 in Los Angeles,California, USA.

His parents are Sharon Salter Balfour (née Salter), who works as a marriage and family counselor and David Balfour, a chiropractor. Eric's parents divorced before Eric was in his teens.

He has a younger sister, Victoria (Tori) Miclette (née Balfour).

Eric has Russian, French and Jewish ancestry. 

Eric attended John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California, USA and graduated in 1995.

When Eric was 12 years old he went to a Summer music camp where he met the late Brittany Murphy, Haylie Johnson and Brian Friedman. They started the band "Blessed With Soul". 

One day when they were in the recording studio one of the executives from "Kids Inc." heard Eric sing and invited him to come join "Kids Incorporated". Eric was on "Kids Inc." for one season in 1991.

Eric is the lead singer of  the LA based band "Born As Ghosts" formerly known as "Fredalba". They released an album in 2003: "Uptown Music For Downtown Kids". For more info about "Born As Ghosts" check out the "Born As Ghosts" page.

Eric married Erin Esther Chiamulon on Saturday, May 30th 2015 at the estate of Erin's parents in the Pacific Palisades, a district in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Eric and Erin started their own clothing line "Electric And Rose" in 2012.
